518,539. Sifting-apparatus. GRIFFITHS, C. H., ADLAM & SONS, Ltd.,G., and TURNER, Ltd., E. R. & F. Aug. 25, 1938, No. 25023. [Class 117] The under surface of sieves 1 is wiped by brushes 9 carried in brackets 7 resiliently supported on a reciprocating carrier 4. Preferably, the brushes are cylindrical and revolve freely on spindles with bearings in the brackets, which are supported from the 'carrier through the medium of guide pins and compression springs. The carrier is reciprocated by a crank and connecting rod, and runs on rollers 12 and tracks 14 on the sieve frame. The sieves may be stationary or reciprocating.
