Abstract
375,934. Sifting-apparatus. KRUPP GRUSONWERK AKT.-GES., F., Buckau, Magdeburg, Germany. May 1, 1931, No. 12956. Convention date, May 30, 1930. [Class 117.] In sifting-apparatus of the type comprising two sieves or one sieve and a counterweight oscillating approximately synchronously with a relative phase displacement of 180‹, the sieves 4, 5, as shown in the Figure, are connected together by springs 6 and to a supporting frame 1 by springs 9, and one sieve 5 is connected through a non-rigid coupling with the driving means. In the construction shown, the coupling consists of a weighted lever 16 pivoted to the sieve and connected to the crank shaft 14 by a link 15. Alternative forms of drive consist of a spring coupling, Fig. 2 (nob shown) or a rotary unbalanced pulley on the sieve 5, Fig. 3 (not shown). Preferably the sieves are suspended by hangers 2, 3 inclined to the vertical, of equal length, and disposed at right-angles to the springs 6, 9. The abutments 7, 8 on the sieves for the springs 6 are preferably disposed at the centres of gravity and an intermediate plate 12 sliding on rods 11 may be provided. The bearings 10 for the springs 9 are connected by the rods 11.
