Abstract

538,337. Sifting apparatus. PARKER, Ltd., F., and PARKER, F. W. Jan. 27, 1941, No. 1049. [Class 117] Apparatus for screening material in lump or loose form such as gravel, slag, clinker &c. comprises two sets of longitudinal members 1, 2 having reciprocating and up-and-down movements out of phase, and some of the members being formed as chains. In the arrangement shown, the chain members 2 are carried by a frame 6 and alternate with channel bars 1 connected at their ends by brackets, to cross bars 3, 4. The two units so formed are supported at their forward ends by links 11, 12 and, at their rear ends, are driven by eccentrics displaced 180 degrees on a driven shaft 18. The screen may be associated with a hopper as described in Specification 526,763.
