Abstract

Reciprocating sieves; rotary sieves.-A series of rotating brushes, scrapers or knockers D are interconnected by linkg E and turnbuckle F and are dispose on opposite sides of the sieving material as shown. As applied to a reciprocating siecs C, Fig. 1, actuated by a crank B and connecting rod A and mounted on rollers P, the brushes are connected by a link G to an endless band driven by pulleys N by which they are traversed to and fro over the sieve. As applied to a rotary sieve P, Fig. III, the brushes remain under the influence of their own weight at the lowest part of the sieve during its rotation.
