Abstract

526,763. Sieves. PARKER, Ltd., F., and PARKER. F. W. March 18, 1939, No. 8703. [Class 117] [Also in Group XXX] The bottom of a hopper 1 consists of bars 2, 3, alternately connected together to form two sets or groups to which a rising and falling and reciprocating action in opposite phase is imparted, and the discharge opening 27 is guarded by pivotally hung fingers 32 or hanging chains, of sufficient resistance to check the rush of material from the opening but raised to allow the material to pass under the agitative action of the members 2, 3. These members may be contiguous so as to form a feed plate which is continuous; or they may be spaced apart to screen the material before discharge from the hopper, the screenings 28, being collected in a shoot 29. The rear ends of the sets of bars are mounted on eccentrics 19 set at a phase difference of 180 degrees, and the forward ends are supported by links 8. The discharge opening 27 may be regulated by a sliding door on which the fingers 32 or the hanging chains may be mounted.
