Abstract

375,956. Sifting-apparatus ; conveyers. STRACHAN & HENSHAW, Ltd., SARGENT, T., and GROSSMITH, G. W., Whitehall Iron Works, St. George, Bristol. May 23, 1931, No. 15311. [Class 117.] Apparatus for screening materials of the type comprising a number of spaced angular plates a secured upon parallel rotating shafts b, is mounted in a trough c so that the plates may act also to convey the screened material d to a discharge shoot R. Preferably the plates are triangular in shape, and are disposed so that the sides of those on one shaft are parallel but offset relatively to the plates on adjacent shafts. The bottom of the trough may be flat or scalloped to follow the paths traced out by the points of the plates. According to the Provisional Specification the bottom of the trough may be formed as a screen of mesh material, perforated metal or transverse or longitudinal bars, and the rotating plate device may function as a conveyer only.
