Abstract

352,970. Sifting-apparatus. MOORE, G. E., Panitola Tea Estate, Upper Assam, India. April 15, 1930, No. 11938. [Class 117.] Sifting apparatus, particularly for extracting stalk from tea, comprises one or more inclined sieves 1, Fig. 1, formed with shallow corrugations transversely of the direction of inclination and provided with perforations 2 at the bottom and sides of the troughs leaving the crests of the corrugations solid. A number of sieves may be arranged in series for multiple grading, as shown in Fig. 3, trays 4 being provided for conveying the material passing through one sieve to the head of the next. The sieves are mounted in a frame 8 to which a vibrating motion, preferably in a substantially horizontal circular direction, may be imparted.
