Abstract

275,380. Bishop, J. F. June 23, 1926. Endless moving sieves.-A machine for separating strings, straws, sticks, wood, chips, large Stones, &c. from grain of the kind comprising an endless sieve 4, is provided, between the upper run of the sieve and the inlet 5 of the material, with a longitudinally adjustable inclined board 7 by which the material is delivered gently to the sieve and the lengthy materials are caused to lie transversely of the meshes. A brush 8 on the inside of the casing 1 is provided to agitate the material, and the grain passing through the meshes on to the bottom 1<x> of the casing is delivered by the lower run of the sieve to the outlet 12. The separated impurities are scraped off the sieve by a wiper 10 and delivered by the shoot 11. The sieve may be formed of interlocked zig-zag wires.
