Abstract

756,971. Sifting apparatus. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Dec. 3, 1954 [Jan. 18, 1954], No. 1415/54. Class 117. Relates to the shape of regular perforations in a pair of superimposed sifting screens which are relatively movable to give different apertures by co-operation of the perforations in both screens. The perforations may be pear-shaped so that in one position, Fig. 1, the apertures are of correct grading size to allow delivery of the under-grade bulk of material, and in the other position, Fig. 2, they are oversize to deliver jammed over-grade material. Alternatively, the perforations may be keyhole-shaped in both screens, or of keyhole shape in one, and circular in the other.
