Abstract

766,167. Sorting solid materials. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. June 22, 1955 [July 2, 1954], No. 19427/54. Class 117 Spherodial solid particles are separated from a mixture containing irregular shaped particles by feeding the mixture from a hopper 18 and shoot 20 on to an inclined plane 1 vibrated in directions perpendicular to its surface. The spheroidal particles move across and downwardly in paths such as a, b, c and d and are collected in a receptacle 7 spaced from the lower edge of the plane and in a further receptacle 14 along one side of the plane. The irregular shaped particles move in paths such as e, f and g and fall through the space between the plane and receptacle 7, and are collected in a receptacle 12.
