[Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group XL (b)] A jigging conveyer for feeding beans to a photo-electric sorting apparatus comprise a hopper 18 feeding a table 19, the table being mounted on blade springs 20, one or more of which forms the armature of an A.C. fed electromagnet 20. A baffle ensures that a single layer only of beans passes from the hopper to the table and the beans are made to travel in single lines by grooves 22 in the face of the table. In a further construction, Fig. 3 (not shown), the table is sector-shaped, the grooves terminating on an arc of a circle.
