846,653. Pneumatic conveyers. METALGESELLSCHAFT A.G. Dec. 10, 1958 [Dec. 21, 1957], No. 39888/58. Class 78 (1). In a device for feeding solids into a vertical conveyer duct 1 of the kind in which the material passes into the duct through slots 5 from an annular chamber 4, a number of small apertures 7 are provided in a distributing pipe 6 for the introduction of auxiliary propelling medium. The apertures 7 preferably point downwards and the pipe 6 may be divided into four or more separate sections each having its own supply 8 pipe, control element 9 and metering diaphragm 10.
