In a pneumatic conveyer system for delivering fibrous material to a number of receivers D, Fig. 1, the velocity of the conveying air current is intermittently changed so that material is evenly distributed and blockages are prevented. Velocity changes are caused by intermittent blasts from an auxiliary blower 5<SP>1</SP> or by varying the opening of a valve E in the outlet or inlet of the main blower 5.
