Abstract

610,477. Separating mill stock. SIMON, Ltd., H., and WATTS, G. April 8, 1946, No. 10731. [Class 117] A method of separating mill stock consists in projecting the particles in a substantially horizontal direction into a chamber, the air content of which is free from disturbance except that arising from the motion of the particles, so that the particles are graded along the base of the chamber. As shown a chamber i is provided with a slot g into which particles are projected from an endless conveyer d travelling at a relatively high speed. The particles are delivered from a hopper b with inclined shoot c, and are spread on the conveyer by means of a roller e. Particles failing to enter the slot g are returned to the hopper by way of pipe j. The chamber i is provided with four discharge bins k, m, n, o.
