Abstract

882.734. Screening apparatus. LINDBERG, A. B. April 24, 1959, No. 14090/59. Class 117. Ore, stone or gravel &c. is fed by a conveyer 1 and a surface 2 on to an upper screening surface 3 composed of spaced transverse rods 4, with their ends loosely mounted in a frame etc; the rods are divided into upper and lower groups, the latter having a greater spacing than the former. Material passing the surface 3 is received by a screening surface 5, also composed of loosely mounted transverse rods but of smaller spacing. The rods of the lower surface 5 are also divided into two groups of different spacing and the arrangement is such that the largest pieces are received in a bin 9 the smallest in a bin 6, and the intermediate sizes are received in bins 7 and 8. The inclinations of the surfaces are adjustable, and the screen frames are supported on rubber strips 10 on angle irons 11. A vibrator 12 is provided. In a modification the screens are mounted at their rear ends on a wall of a housing which carries a vibrator, and the said wall is attached to the housing side walls through the intermediary of rubber sheeting.
