Abstract

1,094,218. Vibrating screens. CHOOMPA KOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHA and TOHO CHITANIUMU KABUSHIKI KAISHA. Dec. 16, 1964 [Dec. 17, 1963], No. 51286/64. Heading B2H. In a screening apparatus for pulverized material, a supersonic vibrator 5 is attached to the screen 2 to impart supersonic (i.e. above 15 KC/sec.). vibrations to the surface thereof, no heat being supplied to the screen surface. A fixed inclined screen is shown but a movable screen such as an oscilatingscreen, a rotary sieve or a movable-bar sieve may be used. The vibrator is driven by a supersonic oscillator 6 which may be of the mechanical, magneto-striction or piezo-electric type. A number of vibrators may be attached to the screen surface. In addition, vibrators may be attached to the supporting frame for the screen or to vibrating boards secured to the screen. Examples of screens and their dimensions are given together with comparative experimental results.
