608,714. Grinding and polishing. HOVE, P. H. VAN DEN. Feb. 28, 1946, No. 6223. Convention date, Nov. 13, 1945. [Class 60] A plate grinding and polishing or graining machine has a vibratory table and a stationary frame located under the table and from which the said table is movably suspended by means of cables, rods or similar elements which connect the frame to supports located underneath the said frame and attached to the said table. A stationary frame 2 mounted on columns 1 has four beams 3 extending diagonally from each corner. Suspended by cables 4 from these beams are bars 7 carrying, on tubes 11, second bars 12 bolted to a frame 13 carrying a box 16. The box 16 carries the plates, e.g. zinc or aluminium plates used in the printing trade, to be grained or polished by being shaken with glass or other marbles and sand or other abrasive. A motor 18 drives a shaft 20 in bearings in the frame 2, eccentrically mounted on which shaft is a plate 27 secured to the bottom of the frame 13, rotation of the-shaft thus imparting a horizontal vibratory motion to the box 16.
