Abstract

597,951. Screening apparatus. WETTLAUFER, J. L. May 3, 1945, No. 11243. [Class 117] A longitudinally-inclined resiliently -supported screen has a vibrating unit mounted thereon to produce lateral vibratory action, whereby materials placed upon the screen travel back and forth across the screen in their movement from end to end thereof. As shown, one or more vibrating units such as described in Specification 596,603 are supported within the frame of a resiliently-supported screen 1. Each unit comprises a frame consisting of two bars 3 supported through resilient washers on angle bars 22 secured within the screen 1. The bars 3 are connected to bars 4 which support a plate 16 carrying an electric motor 17. The motor is connected by a belt drive to a member 11 provided with eccentrically-mounted shafts 10 journalled in bearings 7 which are located between bars 3, 9. The vibrating unit is enclosed within a casing 2.
