629,303. Hair clippers. MARTIN, C. W. Dec. 20, 1946, No. 37584. [Class 131] In a hand operated clipper comprising two hand lever arms 1, 2 connected together by a fulcrum 4 at one of their ends and having comb type cutting blades 5, 6, at their other ends, which are maintained by the arms in sliding contact with each other, the reciprocating motion of the cutting blades is effected by hand pressure against the action of a separating spring 13 and limited by stop means. The outward movement of the arms is limited by the meeting of the extremities 141. The overlapping portions 11, 12, of the lever arms provide seatings for the cutting blades 5 and 6 and are offset to the arms. A steel insert 22 and a roller may be provided to minimise wear between the undercut surface on the offset portion 12 and a rubbing surface on the portion 11. The upper blade 5 is spring pressed towards the lower blade 6.
