Abstract
617,294. Dry-shavers. WILKINSON SWORD CO., Ltd., and RANDOLPH, H. B. Sept. 24, 1946. No. 28507. [Class 131] A dry shaver of the kind comprising a handle 10, an arcuate guard 13 rockably mounted at 16 on the handle intermediate its ends and a cutter 11 of shallow V-shape apically mounted on one or more pins 20, 21, fixed to the inner end of the handle so that the limbs of the cutter extend at an angle on opposite sides of the pin or pins, the edges of the limbs being formed as cutting edges in contact with the inner surface of the guard, is characterised in that each of the pins has a conical surface on which the limbs of the cutter bear at an angle of approximately 90 degrees. As shown in Fig. 2 the cutter blade 11 is slidably mounted on the conical part 37 of pins 20, 21 and is urged toward the guard 13 by springs 24, 25 acting on a flanged, slidably mounted collar 38.
