Abstract
622,461. Pulleys; shaft couplings. PAGE, F. H. Jan. 17, 1946, No. 1648. [Classes 80 (i) and 80 (ii)] A pulley or friction wheel comprises an annular rim 21 having a flange 24 extending radially inwards and carrying plates 26, 27 which are tapered in their bores to contract a split conical bush 32 on to a shaft 8 when the bolts 33, extending through the plates, are tightened. The pulley may be made of metal, thermoplastic, cement or rubber, or may be reinforced with metal. The Provisional Specification describes various forms of construction having built-up V-rims.
