Abstract

1,229,389. Securing members on shafts. SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN G.m.b.H. 2 April, 1970 [3 April, 1969], No. 15717/70. Heading F2U. A member 5 such as a wheel hub is secured on the tapered end 2 of an axle 3 by a nut 15 provided with an internal conical bore 14 engaging a two-part ring 9 mounted in a pheripheral groove 7 in the axle, the ring and groove having co-operating conical surfaces 10 so that as nut 15 is tightened the ring halves 9 are forced inwardly to urge hub 5 axially on the tapered portion 2.
