Abstract

586,192. Universal joints. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and HICKMAN, J. C. May 12, 1944, No. 9053. [Class 80 (ii)] A universal joint comprises blocks 3 of rubber in radial compression bonded to arcuate plates 4, 5, bolted to inner and outer rings 1, 2. The bolt holes in the ring 1 may have bushes 7 to facilitate assembly. One set of the plates 4, 5 may be omitted, the rubber blocks 3 being bonded to the corresponding ring 1 or 2. The blocks may taper radially outwardly.
