742,712. Securing pulleys to shafts. ROGAN, C. H. Nov. 17, 1953 [Nov. 17, 1952], No. 28920/52. Class 80(2) Means securing a split pulley 1 to a shaft comprises a pair of divided rings 3, each ring part extending over rather more than half a circle and being formed with a tongue 15 at one end and a recess 17 at the other. Holes 11 in the tongues and. recesses and one or more additional holes 13 receive bolts 7 which pull the rings on to the tapered pulley hub 5. Some of the holes may be tapped to receive screws engaging a ring adapted to bear against the end of the pulley rim to draw the rings off the pulley hub when dismantling.
