Abstract

423,318. Securing pulleys on shafts. ROGAN, C. H., 48, Stocks Bank Road, Battyeford, Mirfield, Yorkshire. Nov. 11, 1933, No. 31459. [Class 80 (ii)] The halves of a split pulley are provided with tapered half-bosses b, which are forced into engagement with the shaft d by divided rings e pivoted at f and secured by a set screw g. In the form shown, a pair of such rings are drawn together over a double-taper boss by bolts h. To secure the pulley more tightly a key also may be used. According to the Provisional Specification, set screws entering tapped holes in the pulley may be used instead of the through bolts h.
