1,127,975. Securing bearing-races on shafts. STEPHENS-ADAMSON MFG. CO. 15 Feb., 1966, No. 6570/66. Heading F2U. An inner race ring 1 of a ball or roller bearing 3 is secured on a shaft C by tightening clamping rings D which contract axially slotted end portions 1b of the inner race on to the shaft. The clamping rings D, which are split and contracted by tightening screws 8, may, as shown, be provided at both ends of the inner race 1 or may, Figs. 1A and 8 (not shown) be provided only at one end of the inner race ring. The central race 2 of the race ring 1 is hardened whilst the ends 1b are unhardened and the inner diameter of the central race is slightly larger than the inner diameter of the end portions 1b
