Abstract

618,015. Non-refillable bottles. DEL LLANO, J. S. Oct. 14, 1946, No. 30581. Convention date, Oct. 26, 1945. [Class 125(i)] Consists in detail improvements in the closure for non-refillable bottles described in Specification 594,311. The valve carrying member comprises an upper cylindrical member 5 closed at the top, having an annular series of openings 7 and a flange 4 which rests on the upper flange 17 of the lower cylindrical sleeve member 11 which has a projecting spigot 18 to fit into the lower end of the member 5, and a plurality of side openings 12. The flange 17 seats on the packing ring 13 on the upper edge of the bottle neck 14, the edges of the two flanges 17 and 4 fitting against the inner surface of the enlarged portion 11 of the casing 1. A hollow, closed, cylindrical valve 8 having a double frustro conical-shaped weight 10 flexibly attached thereto and a notched projecting annular rib 19 on its upper surface is slidably mounted in the member 5 and adapted to seat on the spigot 18. An annular rib 25 is provided on the casing 1, this rib being out of alignment with an annular rib 24 formed on the top wall of the member 5.
