Abstract

616,703. Valves. STERLING INDUSTRIES, Ltd., and THOMAS, P. E. Feb. 5, 1946, No. 3593. [Class 135] A valve 4, having a restricted flow passage or notch 14 and closed by an excessive liquid flow from the inlet 3 to the outlet 7, e.g. due to a break in the outlet pipe, is provided with a byepass 8 normally closed by a screwed plug 12 which may be opened to refill the outlet pipe when the break is repaired. A circlip 21 pressing against a triangular guide 19 on the valve spindle forms a limit stop for the valve.
