Abstract

536,998. Valves. CLAYTON DEWANDRE CO., Ltd., EDGE, S. H., and RODWAY, J. April 2, 1940, No. 5918. [Class 135] A quick-release valve for pneumatically operated systems includes a valve member 17 normally held to its seat 18 by the pressure in the valve chamber to close an outlet to atmosphere 14, but adapted to open when the the pressure in the supply conduit 9 falls. The said valve member carries a perforated seat 10 for a secondary valve member 5 adapted to be forced off its seat against the action of a spring 6 by incoming fluid but adapted to close when the pressure of the fluid is diminished. In the form shown the main valve member is mainly cylindrical in form having a flange at its upper end and a castellated flange 2 at its lower end, both flanges being adapted to slide in the casing 1. A spring 8 is provided to hold the main valve to its seat when the device is used in a position other than vertical. An internal stop 16 limits the lift of the non-return valve 5.
