Abstract

614,314. Thermionic valves. PATELHOLD PATENTVERWERTUNGS & ELEKTROHOLDING AKT.-GES. June 18, 1945, No. 15471. Convention date, June 20, 1944. [Class 39 (i)] In an electron tube with two anodes lying in the same primary electron circuit and connected in parallel with the same current source, the electrode system is divided symmetrically into two halves, each containing a grid G1 or G2, Fig. 1, and each anode A1 or A2 comprises a perforated part located in the other half of the electrode system between the cathode K and the grid G1 or G2. When the tube serves as a transmitter of very short waves, the capacity between one anode Al and its associated grid G1 is preferably greater than the capacity between the anode A2 and associated grid G2, to provide feed-back. Between the cathode and the perforated parts of the anodes there may be provided a grid G4, Fig. 2, for modulating the oscillations produced, a grid G3 for accelerating the electrons and a suppressor grid G5. The tube may be operated as a mixer. The tube of Fig. 1 may be used as an amplifier for D.C. or for low-frequency A.C. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also an electron tube in which the current distribution over two anodes A1, A2, Fig. 1b (Cancelled), is controlled by the cylindrical grid G, so that the current characteristics of the two anodes show transconductances of opposite sign. A rod-shaped deflector electrode AE fixed to the annular cathode K ensures that a sufficiently large part of the primary electrons reach the anode A1. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
