[Class 39 (i).] Cathode-ray tubes have a very small cathode K surrounded by a biased, openended, cylindrical, concentrating electrode Z and opposite an aperture in a flat accelerating anode A formed by a circular disc, the distance a from the cathode to the end of the electrode Z nearer the anode A not exceeding half the diameter b of the electrode Z. The cathode K may be directly or indirectly heated. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the use of an apertured screen in front of an electron source as the effective cathode. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
