Abstract
410,644. Thermionic valves. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE, 10, Wiesenweg, Steglitz, and STOFF, W., 15, Culmstrasse, both in Berlin. July 22, 1933, No. 20662. Convention date, July 22, 1932. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v).] In a valve having a screening grid and two control grids, one of the control grids produces a variable amplification factor. As shown, the variable-mu control grid 3 is arranged about a cathode 2<a> and an ordinary control grid 4 about another cathode 2b, both being surrounded by a rectangular screening grid 5 ; the control grids are provided with cooling plates 6. The anode consists of two portions of semi-cylindrical shape. In a modification, the control grids are arranged about a single cathode. The valve may be used for automatic volume control or in a heterodyne receiver, the incoming signals being applied to the grid 3 and the heterodyne frequency to the grid 4.
