505,556. Thermionic valves ; electron multipliers. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE. Oct. 8, 1937, No. 27383. Convention date, Oct. 8, 1936. [Class 39 (i)] In an amplifying valve with electron multiplication the cathode 1 is surrounded by a control grid 2, one or more multiplying grids 3, 4, 5, outside which is a grid 6 serving as an anode and surrounding the whole a plate electrode 7 also serving as a multiplying electrode. The grids are preferably so arranged that the wires as seen in the direction of the electron stream, cross each other. Additional screening or control grids may be employed. In a modification the grids 3, 4, 5 are dispensed with the multiplication taking place at the electrode 7 only. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also describes the subjectmatter of Specifications 27384/37 and 505.557. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
