Abstract

299,505. Round. H. J. July 27, 1927. Vacuum tubes.-A valve having a cathode 2, a control grid 4, a screening grid 5 and an anode 3, all arranged transversely one behind another, is provided with an additional transverse grid 6 between the screening grid and the anode for the purpose of preventing secondary electrons emitted by the anode from passing to the screening grid. The transverse arrangement of electrodes is of the kind described in Specification 275,335. The grid 6 may be connected to the cathode or to earth; it may also be used in valves for low-frequency amplification.
