Abstract
404,672. Thermionic valves. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., Connaught House, Aldwych, London.-(Rostas, E. ; 46, Avenue de Breteuil, Paris.) July 19, 1932, No. 20443. [Class 39 (i).] An electrode, preferably an anode, is built up of a plurality of elements of substantially L-shaped cross-section assembled to form an electrode having portions projecting towards the cathode. In one form, Fig. 3, washers 2, 3 having apertures 14 for the other electrodes to pass through, are soldered by their flanges 10, 11 to rods 6, 8. In another form, Fig. 6, a cylinder is built up from portions 12, 13, having inside flanges 2, 3. In another form, a flat plate having fins on one side is built up of L-shaped portions ; the fins may be parallel or at an angle to the edge of the electrode. The arrangement is stated to reduce secondary emission. The Provisional Specification describes also an anode having a perforated screen in front of and connected to it, and an anode consisting of a number of apertured discs spaced axially 1 mm. apart and surrounded by a cylinder.
