Abstract

454,606. Thermionic valves. VEREINIGTE GLUHLAMPEN UND ELECTRICITATS AKT.-GES., Ujpest, near Budapest. April 11, 1935, No. 11241. Convention date, April 11, 1934. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (i)] An amplifying valve has a cathode, an anode and four grids, the first grid counting from the cathode being the control grid, the second and third grids being connected to a point at a constant positive potential, and the fourth grid being kept at the potential of the cathode or at a still more negative potential. The valve acts essentially as a pentode, the screen grid being, however, split into two grids, with consequent improved amplification factor. The fourth grid may be connected to the control grid, and the second and third grids may be at the same potential, for example, anode potential. The Specification describes also valves in which metallic interconnection of the grids is provided within the envelope, and in which constant potential shields are applied to grids, forming subjectmatter of Specification 454,760. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also arranging the wires of the second and third grids to cover each other in planes perpendicular to the cathode, forming subject-matter of Specification 454,760. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
