Abstract
501,163. Valve amplifying circuits. SUDDEUTSCHE TELEFON - APPARATEKABEL-UND DRAHTWERKE AKT.-GES. TEKADE. Nov. 9, 1937, Nos. 30760 and 30761. Convention dates, Nov. 9, 1936 and Nov. 28, 1936. [Class 40 (v)] In a push-pull amplifier harmonic distortion is reduced by using both a positive and in addition a negative back-coupling. The Figure shows a push-pull pair of valves with in phase back-coupling from the anode of one valve to the grid of the other valve, the amount of which is controlled by resistances 43, 44. Negative back coupling for each valve is obtained by resistances 50, 51 and grid-bias is applied through resistances 52, 53, from resistance. condenser combinations in the cathode-leads. The positive and negative back-couplings may be so proportioned as to produce no overall change in amplification and may be such as to compensate for harmonic distortion due to curvature of the valve characteristics. Multigrid valves may be used and operated at such voltages as to give such a curvature of the characteristic that second harmonic can be compensated by the back-couplings while the third harmonic distortion is compensated by the curvature of the valve characteristic The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also an arrangement, Fig. 1 (Cancelled) (not shown), in which positive back - coupling only was employed. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
