Abstract
In a process of nickel plating with a nickel anode assembly, parts of the assembly, for example, welded joints are made from an alloy containing from 8 to 30 per cent chromium, with or without iron up to 74 per cent, the balance being substantially all nickel or cobalt or both. The combined nickel and cobalt contents are at least 8 per cent. Alloys mentioned in the Specification are 80 per cent nickel and 20 per cent chromium, 80 per cent nickel, 14 per cent chromium and 6 per cent iron, 25 per cent nickel, 20 per cent chromium and 55 per cent iron. Alloys may contain small amounts up to 10 per cent of carbon, aluminium, niobium, titanium silicon, manganese, boron, magnesium, sulphur and phosphorus.
