579,479. Hard facing alloys. ARNOLD, J. C. (Coast Metals, Inc.). April 26, 1944, No. 7795. [Class 82 (i)] Alloys which are suitable for hard facing purposes and can be used in the form of weld rods, contain 1-4.6 per cent of carbon, 20-30 per cent of chromium, 7-30 per cent of molybdenum, 13-17 per cent of nickel, 10-30 per cent of cobalt, the remainder being iron :and normal impurities. A particularly! useful alloy contains 2.5 per cent of carbon, 25 per cent of chromium, 8 per cent of molybdenum, 15 per cent of nickel, 25 per cent of cobalt, the remainder being iron.
