Abstract
606,369. Liquid-fuel burners. ROWLANDSON, E. S. Jan. 14, 1946, No. 1177. [Class 75(i)] Liquid fuel is supplied from a constant level reservoir through an adjustable drip feed device 11, to a pipe 9 having a bent portion 13 extending horizontally in the combustion space 3 of a slow combustion stove, cooking range, &c., and the fuel is vaporized and discharged at the perforated or open end 10 of the pipe into a casing 1 having an open mouth 2 where combustion occurs, a pipe connection 6 to the outside of the combustion space for' the admission of air through a hit-and-miss regulating valve 7 and a closed base 5. When applied to existing stoves or ranges it is desirable to blank up the firebars and to close up the furnace front as at 14, 15, so that air enters the combustion space only by the pipe 6. When waste lubricating or other heavy or oil is to be burnt it may be mixed or emulsified with water.
