Liquid and pulverulent fuel furnaces.-A furnace front suitable for burning oil or pulverulent fuel, as shown in Fig. 1, or burning oil, pulverulent fuel or lump coal, as shown in Fig. 4, is provided with a pulverulent-fuel burner 3 carried by the door 1 and serving for the admission of pulverulent fuel and primary air. The burner is provided with an internal helix 4 and may be adjustable axially. Secondary air supplied to the furnace front passes through a director or guide 5 provided with vanes 6 of opposite hand to the burner helix.
