Abstract

378,086. Wick burners. THORPE, A. E., 38, Aston Road North, Birmingham. May 8, 1931, No. 13608. [Class 75 (i).] A central draught wick burner is provided with a socket-like spreader c having a flange c<2> resting on the wick a<4> and a depending conical baffle which causes the velocity of the air flowing from the central air space through the perforated wall c<3> of the spreader to be increased progressively. The conical baffle has a diameter at its base approximately equal to three-quarters that of the spreader wall c<3> and is provided with a flange d<2> by which it is riveted to the top of the spreader.
