Abstract

268,009. Seifert, K. A. Dec. 17, 1925. Open tray burners; oil supply. -In an oil stove comprising a cup-shaped burner c fed from a reservoir b of the bird fountain type, the oil supply to the burner is controlled by means of a needle valve f formed with a slightly tapered portion f<1> for regulating the fuel flow gradually and a steep-angled conical portion f<2> for cutting off the fuel flow rapidly. The base f<3> of the valve is of rounded or parabolic form to facilitate its insertion in position. The valve is adjusted in relation to the valve seating e<1> by means of a nut g screwing on the outside of the oil inlet passage e which communicates by a tube d with the reservoir b. Alternatively the valve seating e<1> may be adjustable. The tube d is connected to the reservoir b on the opposite side to that on which the burner is disposed. The stove may be constructed as described in Specification 247,833.
