Abstract

997,563. Vapour burners. W. FISCHBACH, [trading as ROBERT FISCHBACH KOMM.- GES.]. April 9, 1964 [April 9, 1963], No. 14780/64. Heading F4T. A vapour burner comprises a bowl closed by a cover 4 and having a hole 15 in its sloping base 2 through which a mixture of air and vaporized fuel passes downwardly to a burner element formed by several spaced ring-shaped discs 24. An air tube 6 and an oil pipe 5 in the air tube lead into a connection 5 cast integrally with the bowl and having a removable cover 8. The end of the oil pipe is partially interrupted or formed as an open channel and is disposed above a channel 12 in the base 2 of the bowl. The hole 15 in the base is surrounded by a flange 16 which extends at one part to the cover 4, the other part terminating short of the cover to provide a gap 19 for the mixture. The higher part of the flange 16 is joined to the side wall 3 of the bowl by a wall 20 lying obliquely to the flow direction of the air from the connection 5. The end of the vaporizing surface of the bowl is determined by a baffle plate 14. The ring-shaped discs are spaced by wire lugs or nipples 27 and their inner peripheries may be profiled or cylindrical. The burner head has a coverplate 22 with a tapering wall 23. Vaporization is started by electric elements 10 in the base of the bowl. The output of the burner may be determined by a thermostat responsive to the temperature of hot water or hot air.
