435,962. Vapour burners. MEMMEL, V., 29, Neuweiherstrasse, Nuremberg, Germany. Oct. 29, 1934, No. 31017. [Class 75 (i)] Heavy liquid fuel vaporized in a jacket 23 surrounding the combustion space 1 passes through superheating passages 24 in inwardly projecting ribs on the jacket wall and is discharged through tubes 25 into an air conduit 26 which is heated by conduction from the jacket 23. The mixture of air and vapour burns above a star-shaped member 27. The burner is heated at starting by burning a light fuel in an annular trough 28. The air supply is regulated by a valve plate 30 adjustably arranged within the trough 28. This adjustment may be effected by a thermostat subjected to the heat of the burner.
