477,892. Liquid-fuel burners. CANZI, C. July 3, 1936, Nos. 18499 and 18500. Convention dates, March 13 and May 15. [Class 75 (i)] L A heavy-oil burner operating under natural draught comprises a circular sleeve c, a cup f, and a pan a secured by a nozzle d to the fuel supply pipe w, an outer member b secured by nuts s to the pipe w, and hoods j, q supported by the sleeve c above the pan a. On the fuel issuing from the nozzle d being ignited the more volatile parts of the fuel are vaporized immediately and burn at the orifices r in the hood q with air passing through holes t, h, o, m in the parts b, a, j. The less volatile parts of the fuel pass through holes e in the sleeve c to the cup f where they are vaporized and mixed with air passing under the lower edge of the hood j. This mixture is drawn upwards into the hood q and also burns at the orifices r. In a modification the bottom of the pan a is in contact with the bottom of the member b and is integral with the sleeve c. The cup f may be dispensed with.
