Abstract

552,352 Oil burners. EVERY, C. E. (Burley, C. M.). March 9, 1942, No. 3087. [Class 75 (i)] Oil dripping on powdered pumice or other discrete fire-resisting substance in a pan 9 is ignited and burns with air passing downwardly around the pan 9 into an oval sectioned combustion chamber 2 delivering into the furnace, range, stove or other appliance to be heated. The combustion chamber is formed with or carries a wall 8 surrounding the pan to form the air passage. The pan is formed on a conical member 10 having a flange 12 which rests on the bottom of the combustion chamber and is formed with holes 16 to drain away unburnt oil and admit additional air for combustion. The chamber 2 is provided at its open end with flanges 4 by which it is secured to the stove.
