Abstract
606,012. Electromagnets. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and ROBERTON, J. S. P. April 16, 1946, No. 11669. [Class 35] [Also in Group XXXIX] An electromagnetic vibratory devicecomprises a permanent magnet 2, an armature 6, and alternating current coils 15, poles 4 and 4<SP>1</SP> of like polarity being adjacent to each end of the centrally pivoted armature and a third pole formed by the permanent magnet 2 being adjacent the armature pivot. The alternating current flux flows between the two firstmentioned poles through the magnetic yoke 1 without passing through the permanent magnet 2. The armature plate 6 is slotted as at 7 and the ends of the tongues 8 are supported on the yoke, thus permitting the armature to pivot virtually around axis AB. An extension 13 on the plate operates the diaphragm 9 through a rod 12.
