Abstract

724,978. Reciprocating motors. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES. March 23,1953 [March 21, 1952], No. 7979/53. Class 35. A polarized electromagnetic system has two parallel soft iron plates W between which there is at least one permanent magnet M whose field is perpendicular to that produced by an A.C. energized coil Sp surrounding the plates W. The plates W provide four poles between which a centrally pivoted armature A vibrates. The combined effect of the magnetic forces produced by the coil Sp and the magnets M is such as to produce a torque in the same direction in the two halves of the armature. The plates W which are of U-shape may consist of two iron laminations or of two bundles of laminations.
