[Class 38 (ii)] [See also Group XXXVIII] In a combined induction coil and ringer for use in telephone sets and bellboxes the armature 14 carrying the clapper 16 is a permanent magnet pivoted centrally at 12 between two polepieces which are oppositely magnetized by the ringer windings 2. The windings 3 of the induction coil and the ringer windings 2 are on opposite limbs of a #-shaped magnet 1, each polepiece 8 comprises two like poles 9, 10 co-operating with the opposite ends of the armature.
